Mondays Aren’t So Bad

bleeding heart

I can no longer say good morning or even happy Friday, because it will already be after noon by the time I am done writing this post, and it most definitely is not Friday anymore.  I can’t remember the last time I missed a week posting.  It may be it has never happened and last week was the first time ever.  Oh, no!  Hopefully nobody but my mom noticed…  nobody but my mom and me anyway.  So, I am a few days over due, not a problem, I will pick up where I left off.  My car.  It remained nicely parked in the garage all last week and gave me no headaches at all.  Schoolwork and schedules on the other hand, there was the problem.  Not really a problem, actually, just the source of all of my free time last week.  I am officially calling March the busiest month of the year for me.

Now that it is April, I am breathing a sigh of relief and starting to enjoy the beauty that is showing up all around.  I am very happy to be leaving this winter behind.  With the exception of a few cold evenings, the weather over here was wonderful, and the ugly brown landscape is very quickly changing to green.  It is raining today, but it will only help bring the green around, so I will tolerate the downpours, for now.

Everything about last week keep me occupied: school – teaching, planning, and grading – house work, errands, grocery shopping, bills, haircuts, you name it, I was doing it all.  In addition to all of that, I was nursing some strained muscles, so instead of blogging I was looking online for home remedies.  Everything is all good now, and I am really happy it is Monday and that I have another week before me with a little less to do.  Even though Sunday is the first day of the week, Mondays for me are when the ball of life really gets rolling and I kind of like starting everything all over again.  I even enjoy going to the gym.  Weird, I know.  It must have something to do with being refreshed and rested from the weekend.  Or I am extra motivated to work off those extra carbs I let myself eat.  Yesterday they came in the form of McDonald’s french fries.  But either way, some of my best workouts happen on Monday.

You know what else happens on this day?  Some of my best cooked dinners.  I have plenty of time to cook, and right now I have the most delicious looking pork chops in my crock pot.  I might even be looking forward to dinner more than I am looking forward to the gym today.

Well, enough of me gushing on Monday.  Not everyone feels the way I do about it, I am sure.  And if I keep going on and on, I will lose all this extra time that I have and I might start the week off low on clean clothes.  Blogging wasn’t the only thing I ran out of time to do last Friday, my laundry suffered a little as well.

Have a great week everyone, and a happy Monday!  I will be back later in the week with some of my spring sewing plans.
