I am always happy to see I still have a following over here even when I’ve been away from it for longer stretches of time than I would like. I am alive and well, and have made it through the hottest week of the year. Well, last week felt like it was anyway, and here I am. There have been a few things that I’ve been up to since I last updated. A trip, some adventuring, and a little bit of the same ole as usual.
Let me start with the adventuring. At the end of last month, I took a short drive (45 minutes is a short drive for me) to a neighboring county to see a replica of one of the Christopher Columbus ships. I actually had seen this ship before, The Pinta, at a different location several years back. I searched the blog for when that was, but I couldn’t find it on here so turns out, I never mentioned it. So I will write about this time. The ship is a replica of a Portuguese caravel and it is basically a travelling museum. The people who work on the ship travel around with it and are all volunteers. Kind of a cool adventure for them. The ship is actually bigger in size than the original, and even though it was a good sized ship, it is somewhat shocking that the real one was even smaller than that! The whole crew travels in the ship from port to port, of course they have way better accommodations than the original crew did. Isn’t the modern world wonderful?

At the beginning of the month, Stephen and I took a trip. A one day work trip for him, three day fun trip for us. It was only Nashville, but we got an Air B and B and had a great long weekend away. We did some shopping, went to the mall, and had some great meals out. I got to spend some time downtown getting the pups used to being out and about and around people. They are getting better every time we get out with them. We did lots of walking; I finally had a reason to check out Shelby Bottoms which is a nature park with lots of walking trails. The weather was perfect! And I tired the dogs out just enough to chill at the outdoor, dog friendly pub for an early dinner after Stephen’s work event. It was a great time!

As for the same as usual, I am a homebody most of the time still. My daily, early evening gym routine is still an every day occurrence. I am teaching 4 classes a week and love it! I am in a slow spot with nutrition clients at the moment, but that tends to come in waves for me anyway. The vineyard is in a growing season, so the daily work has yet to begin for harvest. Really, the everyday part of my life is pretty much the same. I have been reading some health and work related books pretty consistently. I think I have finally gotten over the thought that sitting down and reading is unproductive. I very much enjoy it and I learn a lot from what I read. Plus, the pups seem to like the extra snuggle time and it’s a break for me from chasing them around as they still get into everything!

That is the overall run down of the last month. I did mention that the boy – although, not really the boy anymore – got done with his schooling for electrical a month early. Well, he has since landed his first big boy job! He is working for an electrician in Jackson learning all he can. He just started week three and he is very much enjoying it. So proud of him and looking forward to what his future holds. And that’s all that I have to update on now. I just got done mowing my backyard so sitting here catching up was a nice cool down before getting back at my Monday. Thanks for reading and to my regulars, for still stopping by to see what’s going on. Have a great week!
