Almost two weeks in to the new year, and so far it’s been great! Things started a bit behind schedule for me due to car trouble that ultimately lead to, wait for it…

A new car! My Mini gave out three months ahead of schedule, as far as our new car planning went, but we made do and I have this very spacious SUV parked in my driveway. And actually, I managed to squeeze it into the garage last night, with a bit of rearranging, when I heard we are expecting crazy weather this weekend and into next week.

I love it! The Mini will still always be my favorite, and we are hoping to find out exactly what’s wrong with it and get it repaired sometime in the spring. For now, she shall remain parked and I even got a cover to put on for the time being.

So week one of the year was spent mostly at home until we got the RAV. Now for week two, I have hardly been home all week except for today. I am catching up on all the laundry and cleaning before the weekend. I got the pups to the groomer, and met three times with some friends for coffee, lunch, and breakfast. This was mostly due to the fact that most of my school teaching friends had one more week of break. It was a great week to spend the time together.

I got some new hoodies made with a new and improved Cavia Creek logo so I picked those up the other day. I really like the way they came out. Soon to be not just a hobby vineyard, but an RV park, so we have to have some more merch. If all goes as we’d like, hopefully by the summer we will be open for renters. It’s exciting!

The weather was nice enough last weekend to spend a good couple of hours on the back deck. I had coffee and tamales for breakfast out there last Sunday. One of my New Mexico friends so generously gave us some tamales and they were so good! I actually thought about making myself some this time last year and went as far as buying the masa and corn husks, but never ended up going through the process. Boo for me cause I was reminded how delicious they are. I sometimes wished I was more of a cook, or enjoyed cooking more than I do.
That’s about all I have to say for now. Like I mentioned I am in the middle of cleaning and laundry before heading out to Walmart and the gym. I am sure everyone is at Walmart since the weather forecast is calling for the snow storm of the year this weekend. I can make myself be okay with the rain, but I really don’t like the snow, or more specifically the temperatures that come with the snow.
Have a great weekend, you all!
