Dear Diary 2024: The Week of Never Ending Weather

Good morning, readers! I hope you are warm this cold and snow covered January day. I can’t remember a time since I’ve been in Tennessee that the snow stayed on the ground all week long. Usually, it melts by day two, or at most three. Not this time and to make it seem like I have had no life outside of my four walls even more, we have been pretty much homebound since last Saturday. My guy came home last Friday feeling a bit under the weather so we have hardly left the house in well over a week. It’s been a long week!

January is known for feeling like the longest month of the year, isn’t it though? Or is it just me that feels that way? Anyway, not a whole lot going on over here, just staying warm and waiting for the snow to melt. Stephen worked from home all last week and even though it put a damper on me being able to get regular stuff around the house done, at least I had someone to give me a ride cause I was not ready to put the RAV to the snowy roads test.

On Wednesday I had a massage appointment that I wasn’t sure I’d make, but thanks to Stephen I didn’t have to cancel. And he so kindly braved a Walmart trip for me while he was waiting around. A week with hardly any Walmart trips doesn’t happen very often. Later that day he shuttled me to the gym for my evening step class. I wasn’t sure anyone would make it, but I had two ladies make the trek. It felt like an extra hard class after not doing anything all week. And I got to spend about 40 minutes on the treadmill walking. I tried to walk around the neighborhood the day before, but it was too cold out there so I didn’t get very far. That was my fitness for the week.

I was able to get some online/computer stuff done since I’ve been homebound. And I had the great idea to pull out some of the photo tubs from the back of the closet. It was a nice little trip down memory lane.

Now today, Monday, we woke up to 29 degree temps instead of the 8 degrees that we have been having, so already the week is off to a good start. We will have most of today to enjoy the sun before the rain shows up for the rest of the week tonight. I will probably need to go to Walmart for the things I couldn’t get last week. Many shelves were bare. Snowpocalypse shopping is a very real thing in West Tennessee!

That’s all from me. Really hoping this is my one and only winter weather post for a while. ❤
