Dear Diary 2024: November and December

Good morning! You all thought I was gone forever, didn’t you? Surprise! I am still around. And today I get to recap the rest of my year. 2024 was definitely not my year for blogging, but I couldn’t leave you all hanging wondering what the rest of my year looked like. Let me start with November.

November:

I’ll stick with the highlights for November. I got my RAV back from the shop, as good as new. Definitely don’t need any more fender benders this year. We’ve had our fill.

My guy and the boy got to see a Titan’s game and they got field passes for before the game. This was very exciting for them! It was like watching giants they said. I got the video texts of all the fun they were having which I was fine with. I am glad that they got to spend the time together.

I started a 6 week group training session at the gym. When it comes to training, I have found that I do best with accountability, so working with a trainer is a plus for me. That session finished at the end of December and I just signed up for another round that starts next week. I am already looking forward to it.

December:

The main event of this month was traveling to the Gulf Coast. Trip two to the beach this year, and trip two to the beach in the month of December. (I plan on doing all I can to keep making a December beach trip a yearly thing.) We rented a house on the beach and despite a very last minute change of plans, it was perfect. You see, I got a phone call two days before we were leaving that our rental house was unavailable due to immediate repairs of a rotting floor. Oh, no! Did we even have any options I thought. It does take a little extra searching to find nice pet friendly accommodations. Thankfully, they had a substitution available just three or so houses down the beach, still on the beach and still pet friendly. Whew! It was what it was, we thought, and the pictures of the place seemed nice, so we were going to go and enjoy whatever it ended up being. Once again, I will say it was perfect!

Daily morning sunrises from the deck and evening sunsets from the beach. Beach strolls with the pups and afternoons laying out. Plus the usual outlet mall shopping trip and nice dinners. This time we found a restaurant not far from the house that was wonderful! We went twice and will for sure be back on our next stay. And since we enjoyed it so much last time, we rented E-bikes again and rode through the state park. I jokingly told Stephen he should ask the guy if he remembered us. Stephen said, yeah right, he won’t. Then the first thing the guy said when we picked up the bikes was that he remembered us from last May. Didn’t expect that. We are becoming regulars in the Gulf Shores area I guess. 😀

We also happened to catch some of the Geminid meteor shower one night, and lost track of all the shooting stars we saw. I only wished that the moon wasn’t almost full. But despite that, it was the most meteors I’d ever seen in one night. Good memories from this trip for sure!

The end of the year ended on a pretty slow note. It was rainy and dreary when we got back and the last two weeks were pretty laid back. Stephen had a few days off and got to work from home a lot the last two weeks, so my day to day was not very busy. The boy also had time off so we took advantage of that and had him do a couple of electrical updates. I got a new chandelier that I had wanted so he installed that. However, I have since decided that I don’t like it after all. It’s a quality thing rather than a design thing. The threading in the arms is not right so several rods have become loose. I do not recommend Amazon for quality light fixtures. I have until the end of the month to return it and have found a replacement.

That’s about all from 2024 for me. We finished the year off doing a puzzle, and once again being thankful for all the time we had together with those we love.

Hope everyone is having a great start to 2025! ❤

Oh, and how can I forget, my 2024 video is done. It was a great year!
