I have another product review for a post today. Yes, I am not usually a beauty blogger, and no, this is not a beauty blog type of a review. In fact, it might even be the very opposite, but it has to do with me and what I have been doing lately, so here it is. Perfect timing really, because I have been running a lot – and by a lot, I mean since last Friday.
Yuki totally thought these were for her, and it was a very big disappointment when she realized that she wasn’t going to get to chew them up.
I was sent a pair of Dr. Scholls Active Series insoles about a month back from Influenster to try out and review. I wasn’t required to do a blog post on them, it was just an added bonus if I did, so I am. And now, my thoughts on a pair of shoe insoles. (This really isn’t a normal type of subject for me to write about, but I do like to write about shoes, so maybe it’s not too off from a normal subject of mine.)
These insoles are specifically for Active wear, such as in your favorite pair of running or exercise shoes, and since I exercise quite a bit, these were a great thing for me to try, especially since lately I really want to be a runner. I am working on this, but it is sometimes very hard to talk myself into running, I would much rather take a Zumba or a ballet class, but my options with these is somewhat limited for the time being, so I try and run. One of the reasons why I dislike running? I ALWAYS get shin splints afterwards, and it takes days for them to go away. I don’t like shin splints!
This was the week I really put these insoles to the test. I tried them a few times already before this week and it was enough to know that I liked them, but this week I have been making myself run everyday, well almost. I missed Wednesday because I was so sore from all of the exercising on Monday that I could hardly walk up and down the stairs outside, or even get up from my seat. I may have overdone it a bit in a new circuit training class at the gym, oops! But back to the insoles, I have not had shin splints once since I started wearing them while running, so this is the week I found out that I REALLY like them. I am going to keep wearing them from here on out, because if they can keep me from getting shin splints, I am sold. I also happen to have very high arches, and I definitely felt that the arch support in these was great. Better than anything I have tried before as far as arch support goes. However, I haven’t tried very many things aimed at arch support, just so you know.
I never knew there was even activity specific insoles, my main reason for ever wearing any before was to make my shoes fit better, because as I have said before, I have a hard time finding shoes that fit well. I am very happy with these, and I am happy that I had the chance to try them out. I may have never even known about them otherwise. The packaging says these are supposed to help with shin splints, knee pain and other general foot pain such as from plantar fasciitis. They definitely helped with the shin splints, so I would only assume they would be good for those with these other problems as well, and more so if you exercise a lot. My only complaint and it was just a matter of getting used to, is that they felt kind of weird in my shoe the first few times I wore them. It took a few wears, but after that, they don’t feel strange at all.
I will definitely be buying these insoles in the future when my current pair wears out. I might even want to try them in a pair of my everyday shoes and see how they wear in them, because my Doc Martens can sometimes be a bit loose on me, and really they aren’t always the most comfortable of shoes.
Disclaimer: I received this item for free to try out and review. All opinions are honest and all opinions are my own.
Oh, and by the way, product reviewer would be something I would like to be more of, so anything anybody would like to send my way, perhaps of the dress or shoe sort, would be wonderful. I will gladly give you my honest opinions. 😉
Enjoy your weekend, everyone! I hope you get out and do something fun.

Hmmm…so you want to a runner? Do I see a 1/2 marathon in your future???
Probably not, especially since I just can’t keep up with it. I ran for a whole week, then my day off turned into a week off. I admire you for doing so well with it! You are my running inspiration. 🙂
I can never find motivation to run unless I have signed myself up for a race, especially those long 8 or 10 mile runs, I always find some thing better to do, or cut it short because I can. I do love running though it makes me feel mentally tough. Glad I can offer some inspiration. 🙂
great review I have similar issues with shoes not fitting properly. It takes forever to break in running shoes sometimes. Your dog is adorable bu the way.
Yes, running shoes are some of the hardest to break in for me too. Thank you, and thanks for reading. 🙂
Hmmm, I may need to try these out – my feet have been bugging me lately when I run. Thanks for the review!
You are welcome! I hesitated a bit to do this review post, so I am glad you got something out of it. 🙂
