Rejoice for the Day

Hello, hello, to anyone still around just waiting to hear what I’ve been up to. I’m alive and all is well. I’ve successfully transitioned from summer to fall weather and am quite enjoying the mild days and cooler mornings. Life is good and I have no complaints. Since I last updated you all on our vacation we took last month, only really one thing has changed in my day to day, the addition of this little white fluff of happiness.

Her name is Aspen. She is nine weeks right now and we’ve had the joy of getting to know her the last two. She is mostly mild mannered, with plenty of that puppy craziness! She likes her crate and pretty much sleeps through the night. Her favorite toy is a tupperware tray and she is easily distracted by leaves and wild onions growing in the back yard when we set her down to do her business. (Still have work to do with that.) She has been taking up the majority of my time the last couple of weeks, and I don’t mind it one bit.

Caught being crazy!

Besides puppy proofing the house, the last month for me has been pretty uneventful. I’ve spent some time with friends, gone to Ikea, and finished up with what was going to be picked in the vineyard. The last day of picking for me was October 31st – 24 gallons was how much I got that weekend and could have gotten plenty more had I needed to. With the help of my dad, we started one last batch of wine for the year, and I’m about to go through my notes and see how much wine I’ve made since I started back in 2014, was it? Any guesses on how many gallons? 🙂

Hunting season has started and for the second year in a row, I do not have a sewing queue to start on for November. In fact, the last thing I made was back in April and I haven’t touched my sewing machine since. Not much inspired to be creative these days, but I’m sure I’ll get there again soon. I have inspired myself to never buy another sweater again, or anything else clothing related, after going though my closet and realizing I have no room for any more clothes! That feeling will wear off soon, I have no doubt, but in the mean time I’m happy with the extra money I am saving by not shopping – except for Ikea shopping, had to get a cabinet for all that clothes I can’t find a place for, ha ha.

And if I’m not at home playing with the puppy or making food, you can find me at the gym. I’m six weeks down of my 12 week program and things are going great! I’ll end it here with a daily look at what October looked like. (Can’t believe it’s already almost the end of November!) Have a great Monday!

Don't leave yet! Tell me what you think.
