Dear Diary 2024: Late to the Blogging Party

It’s finally here, the end of the longest month of the year. It sure seems like that anyway. The month has ended for me in a pretty uneventful way. Once we defrosted from the snow and ice, the rain showed up on and off for about a week. The dreary weather left me inside pretty much for the remainder of the month with the exception of a couple of lunch outings and a dentist appointment. I spent my time indoors doing my regular routine with an added day of garage organization. This will forever be a work in progress! I took one truck load to the dump and I have room to open my vehicle doors all the way now when it’s parked in the garage. Yes, this is progress!

Since the remainder of the month was so uneventful (and is a post with 123 words even worth publishing?), let me take this post in a bit of a different direction. There is a writing theme of the day over here on WordPress, and those of you who are regular bloggers on this platform may have noticed it is Bloganuary. This is a helpful way to kick off a new year with a month long challenge to help jumpstart your blogging. I am a month late to the blogging party! Better late than never, right? Why not participate. Today the last prompt for the month is:

What is the thing you are most scared to do? What would it take to get you to do it?

Thinking about this should be a no brainer for me, skydiving. But guess what, I will never ever in my life skydive! And Stephen knows this so he won’t be asking me to go with him when he decides the time is right for him to skydive, because he is crazy and would actually do it! So I can’t be scared of something I know will never happen. What I really am scared of, and hope I never have to experience, is surgery. I actually just came to this conclusion in the last couple of weeks. Both my guy and the boy have experienced having surgery, as well as several others that I know, and I just can’t mentally put myself in that situation. (I have had my wisdom teeth pulled, but to me that was different.) Of course, there is nothing that can be done when the need arises and surgery has to be performed, so the absolute necessity would be what it takes for me to do it. I hope to never have to go though anything like that. And I guarantee as of this very moment, I would not voluntarily go though with such a thing.

And thus concludes my weekly recap. Not only did you all get to read about my uneventful last week of the month, but also you now know my biggest fear, as of this moment. And I get to say I participated in Bloganuary. Until next time.
