Completely forgot about the blog
Did you notice? If you are here today because you are – or rather, were – a regular reader and got a notification via email or such to say I made post, welcome back! It’s been awhile and I am happy to be here today ready to reminisce on my summer. This may be a longer than usual post, as I have several months of catching up to do, but I will do my best to not make it a novel. Here we go, This summer I…
Finished the RV Park

Now, obviously, this was not just something that I did. In fact, I was very insignificant to the whole building process. It was my guy, the boy, and my dad that did most the work. I guess you can say I am the behind the scenes one in this. Now, we just need some renters cause that is when my job will really start, the job of property manager. But as the property manager, I have been working even without any tenants so I shouldn’t say that I haven’t had any part of it yet. Promoting the site on the many RV Facebook groups that I am on, responding to messages on In Search Of posts, and trying to stay relevant in the algorithm of social media is very time consuming. In addition to dealing with several online business submissions, and redoing a couple of them when I realized I did them wrong the first time. Yeah, that has been the bulk of my online time lately and my current contributions to the RV park.

So, my dear readers, if you are in need of an adventure, or feeling like living the RV life, I have a space for you surrounded by the peaceful Natchez Trace State Park in West Tennessee. Halfway between Memphis and Nashville, and only 3 miles north of I-40 with three small cities within 25 minutes away. This new 5 spot RV park has an on-site storm shelter and coming soon a laundry house. Full hookups are available and electric and water are included in the price. Daily, weekly, and monthly – including long term – stays are welcome. Hit me up if you are interested and want more info. 😉
Went on a couple of getaways
Two specifically. In July Stephen, the pups, and I went to Chattanooga. We saw Rock City, Ruby Falls and went to Top Golf. We went for the fourth of July weekend; it was hot and also, it was busy. I really wanted to go to the aquarium, but we didn’t purchase tickets online so when we got there, they were sold out for most of the day. And so you know, you pretty much have to purchase tickets for all the major attractions online, Including Ruby Falls and Rock City. There are available time slots and if you just show up, you may not be able to just get a walk in ticket right then. We are going to have to go back though cause there were several things that I also wanted to do that we didn’t have the time for. It’s great that it is only just over three hours away from home.

This last weekend we went to Nashville for an overnight trip. Originally the plan was to go see a show, but when we saw that the tickets were more than a couple hundred dollars a ticket, we didn’t want to see it that badly, so we got a room for a night out instead. We spent a little time at the Parthenon walking around with the pups before it was check in time at the Air B and B.

We have always been very happy with where we end up staying when we go to Nashville and this place that we stayed may be the best one yet. There was a completely enclosed backyard with a hang out canopy decorated with string lights. It was an older house but nicely decorated and very cozy. Plus it was only a nine minute drive to downtown. The neighborhood was surprisingly quiet considering the location, but really it was the back yard that we liked the most. We hung out out there until about 1 am after we got in for the night. As for the night out, Stephen left the planning to me and I picked the Twelve Thirty Club. I picked this originally for the rooftop, of course (if you are a regular here, I always want a night out to have a roof top something, ha ha!). There was a rooftop, but we didn’t end up there. Instead we had a nice dinner in the Supper Club. The thing about roof tops that I’ve noticed is that they mostly serve bar food and drinks. Which is nice, but I was looking for something fancier. Plus, the website indicated that the rooftop required reservations and there were no reasonable times available and we were hungry! Dinner did not disappoint! The atmosphere was beautiful and the food and drinks were so good.

After dinner we went to Top Golf. Seems it was the summer activity since we went in Chattanooga and in Nashville. I reckon we will have to try out the one in Orlando on our next outting. We had fun! Perhaps becoming golfers in something to look forward to. Practice makes perfect, right? 😀

Had a Painting Party with Friends
Remember Painting with a Twist, anyone? I did something similar this summer with a group of friends. I am no Picasso, but perhaps I could be if let my creations be more abstract, but I think I did okay with the sunflower that we chose to paint. I very much recommend painting parties with friends! You bring the drinks and food, and leave the art supplies and instructions to someone else. It was great and we all would love to do it again.

Saw a candlelight string quartet
Now that I am writing it all out, my summer was pretty eventful. This was a last minute date night for Stephen and I, I even bought a new dress for the occasion, but ended up not wearing it cause it was wrinkly and I didn’t have time to iron before I left. We had dinner before and the show was nice.

Summer was not just all fun and excitement, I had a few bummers as well. One such bummer was a pinched nerve for me somewhere in my shoulder blade area that left me with several weeks of frustration. I’m getting over that now, I think, with only some lingering tingling, but injuries are always slow to go away and require lots of patience. Any who, that actually is only one of a few of my current complaints, but there is nothing serious, probably just part of getting older I think. But if I live to 100 I am not quite middle aged yet, so I shall still enjoy my youth!
I’d say that’s a pretty good overall recap of my summer. We had some great little trips and all the time together was wonderful. As for the present, I am right in the middle of muscadine harvest and next week is going to be the BIG picking day. I am enjoying a day at home today as I wait on all the rain we are supposed to get and there are plenty of other things to catch up on in addition to the blog.
Thank you all for reading; it was a long one! I do expect to be back more regularly in the weeks ahead. ❤
Until then.

Don’t know about that middle age thing. If you live to be a hundred then “middle age” starts about 35 to around 70. Of course if you are going to get old early it could be 45-65. And then there is the twenty is young, eighty is old and everything in the middle is middle age. I guess you are as old or as young as you want to be and forget about the middle. Stay young forever. Love you! Auntie Pat

[…] out of the way, September was also pretty nice for a weekend away. I already touched on that some in the last post so there’s not much more to say. We do tend to make a long weekend in Nashville a regular […]
