Marching Through April and on to May

So much has happened since the middle of March! You all get the highlights today. A quick trip to Atlanta, tulips, tea, tornadoes, flooding, water leaks. Also, wine tastings, and distillery visits. Plus gazebo construction, an overnight in Nashville, and a week on the beach. Hmm, did I leave anything out? Let me elaborate some.

March ended with so much rain! I can’t remember the last time it rained that many days and every storm was a downpour! Roads, nay whole areas, were flooded. Don’t forget about a few tornadoes and we’ve had some weather, for sure! A few days before all of the weather showed up, some friends and I found a tulip farm and a British style tea house. We spent the day enjoying each other’s company. We walked through a tulip field and then had a neat tea time experience. It was so much fun! I took plenty of pictures!

On to the first of April. My boy found out about a Ju Jitsu competition in Atlanta. It was two weeks away, and of course he wanted to compete. It’s the adventurous side of him, he says, to come up with an idea at the last minute and go with it. He did some training and really the only way he’d know what to expect was to jump right in. So we made a weekend trip to Atlanta. There was pouring rain, tornadoes, and flooding. It rained almost the whole time and we weren’t even sure Ethan would make it. The freeway shut down after a tornado blew the trees into the interstate only a few miles ahead of him. Leave it to those that travel through Tennessee with chainsaws to help clear the way a little bit faster. He made it. We made it. It was an adventure and quite an experience! The boy came home with a black eye, a strained knee, and second place. Not bad at all for his first comp; he did so well! By the way, that was the first time I had ever seen him do Ju Jitsu.

Mid April Stephen and I had a mid week Nashville trip. It was our third time to see Amos Lee, and the first time seeing him at The Ryman. It was a great show! We stayed downtown, got to take in the sights – people watch – and found a new place to eat. The whole trip was fantastic!

Now for the little things that came up while I was on my blogging break:

A new gazebo at the RV park.

One water leak, not two, at the RV park.

Wine tasting and bonus distillery visit.

Then there was the beach. Not so much a little thing, but more than I want to add to this post. 😀

I’d say this is a sufficient recap of what’s been going on lately. Stop by again to see what else I am up to. It won’t be as long of a break this time, I promise.
