Weekly Photo Challenge: Growth

How could the topic of ‘growth’ and my boy not be the obvious pairing for this week’s photo challenge?  I have an eleven year old son that is going to be leaving home tomorrow!  (Not literally, of course, but it may as well be as fast as he is growing!)  He turned eleven in March, and I cannot remember any other time in his life that such a change has been seen.  He is rapidly becoming less of my little boy and more of my little guy!  I know every parent experiences this change and just as my parents watched me grow and leave, I am getting to see it for myself.  I just can’t believe it is happening to me!

I know really there still is a lot of growing to be had by not only him, but also me.  In fact, having a child has made me grow more than I ever would have thought.  Just like him though, I have a ways to go in my growth as a mom and there still is plenty of time for it, and I must not forget to enjoy every moment of it.  He really isn’t leaving home just yet, not until he is at least 25… (Maybe if he hears me say it enough, he will believe me!)

Psalms 127:3  Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

  1. Beautiful post full of loving memories and bright, optimistic future hopes. He reminds me of my son who’s turning 7 soon. This struck me the most,”He is rapidly becoming less of my little boy and more of my little guy! ” So, for as long as we can, lets enjoy and celebrate their childhood.
