The Thursday Thrift: Shirt Shopping

I am well aware of what my wardrobe is missing.  Looking in my closet, one might think how could you possibly be missing anything?  There are plenty of shirts, skirts, dresses, etc. to make outfits for several days!  But where is the shirt that will match my newest me made item?  Off to the thrift store I went…

It was Tuesday and I made a quick stop in to see what I might find.  I was limited on time, the boy had piano in twenty minutes and I had a goldish, yellow colored shirt that I needed to find.  I started through the racks and racks of shirts.  Thankful for the color coded line up, I went strait for the shades of yellow, and I found nothing.  Nothing that just jumped out at me anyway.  I proceeded down the rest of the small section, and even into the medium rack, when I came upon a shirt that was just waiting for me to find it.  Black, white, and red, with stripes, I had to get it!  It even has a bit of the hi-low trend going on.  (You know where the hem is higher in the front, and lower in the back?  Yeah, that style.)  But, oh, yeah, I was looking for something to match my newest made skirt.  Perhaps in the center aisle where all of the sale items are…

At the end of the trip, I made it home with a new to me shirt and skirt, both not what I originally went into the Goodwill for, but I am very happy with what I found.  The skirt is great, a bit on the fancier side, and wearing it with this shirt just wouldn’t have been a match, so it shall remain unseen on the blog for a few weeks longer.  But for today, I have this shirt and a previously thrifted skirt:
