Hi, everybody! It’s mid-September and I couldn’t be happier. Cooler mornings and nights spent outside are just around the corner. Hopefully, that is. Cooler temperatures or not, fall will be here probably before the weather is, and like so many other of us ‘fashion bloggers’ (or should I say wanna be fashion bloggers), it’s time for me to go on and on about sweater weather, tights, and high boots. But wait, there will be time for those kinds of posts, today let me talk a little bit about fall shopping and my first fall clothing finds.
I love fall! It is my favorite season for which to shop, and I can’t help but get a little excited when I see tights, boots, and sweaters starting to make their way into the department stores. I started my fall shopping a little early this year, thanks to steals.com. I was recently contacted by them, and offered my very own gift card so that I could try the site out and let you all know what I thought. And now, here are my thoughts.
I had not heard of this specific site before being contacted, but I have come across sites somewhat similar. These are the types of sites that one can really find a deal, and steals.com was no exception. Hand-Picked, Daily Deals for Women is the slogan you can find at the top of the page, and that is exactly what I found when browsing through their products. They have four areas of items: Baby, Kid, Scrap, and She. Without hesitation, I went straight for She. Just so it doesn’t sound like I am completely selfish when it comes to online shopping, let me say that I did also make my way to the kid, scrap, and baby sections. Actually, shopping for others is something I do on a pretty regular basis.
Back to the shopping for me though. This site has a little bit of everything: accessories, bags, electronics, kitchen items, decor, jewelry, shoes, and even some apparel for men. How many men really like to clothes shop anyway? I know over here, it is usually I that pick those things out for my guy. There was no doubt I had a lot of choices before me on what to get with my gift card.
First thing’s first, when you go to steals.com you have to sign up for an account. Well, you don’t have to, but you will earn points if you do. For every steal that you view, you get two points. This amount has a daily limit, but if you frequently browse the site in a week, which you should since there are new deals everyday, you can really rack up the points. When you purchase an item, you earn 2 points for each dollar spent. You get to redeem these points during check out so you will be saving even more! 100 points will equal $1.00 off. Not too bad if you ask me.
The thing I liked about the site was the variety of items. I scrolled and scrolled through previous steals and found so many things that I wanted to get. The prices were pretty nice as well, with several previous steal items being even more discounted. It might not be a good idea to wait too long if something catches your eye though; some things that I saw when I first browsed sold out before I was able to buy them. The other thing that I loved about the site, the $2.99 shipping. A very good steal, indeed.
It was hard to chose, but in the end I decided on a cardigan and a skirt. A new complete outfit, perfect for fall. Or if worn separately, two things that would dress up two outfits with items that are already in my closet. I have already worn the cardigan, if only briefly. Where I am, it’s not completely sweater weather just yet. And the polyester skirt is still a little too hot for the daily temperatures that we have been having. No doubt, you will be seeing these items in future posts very soon.
I was very happy with what I got, and I have found another great site that will be making my daily rounds online.
