It is the last Thursday of November, and I can’t even believe I have a post ready. I was a little worried. I wore this and got pictures taken last weekend, so I knew I had plenty of time to get it on the blog, then yesterday – the day I was writing it up – I was having computer problems and thought for sure I’d be here next week apologizing for not having it up on time. No need to worry though because I figured out what was wrong, and I get to tell you all about this dress, on time this month.
I am pretty happy with this little find. I came across it at one of the Franklin, TN Goodwills – my Goodwill of choice these days. It is a few minutes down the road from our dentist, and I am usually in Franklin before our regular cleaning appointments just early enough to stop in and make a quick run through the dress section. The dress section being my most favorite section of any store.
When I came across this dress, there was no doubt I would be getting it, even though it is more summer appropriate, and a little shorter than I would like. I love the fit and flare style, and I am particularly found of an empire waist. My first thought once I tried it on was that it would be very easy to add another tier to the bottom with some neutral colored muslin since the rest of the dress is a similar weight to muslin fabric. I never got to this during the summer though. I think the colors are neutral enough to wear for fall, and with some thick, almost legging-like tights, the length doesn’t seem as bad.
Not that wearing a summer dress in the fall has ever bothered me before, here I am with another Goodwill dress.
And here I am with another pair of Doc Martens. These were thifted as well and they don’t really get worn nearly enough. But for this outfit, they’re a match.
Anyone else wearing anything wonderful that you’ve recently thrifted? Leave me comment; I want to know about it.
Details: Dress – thrifted || Sweater – c/o Steals.com || Tights – Apt. 9 || Shoes – Doc Martens (thrifted) || Necklace – Pier One
The dress is so vibrant and colourful – a great find! I wish I could bring an outfit like that myself – it’s the perfect color matching!
