Morning! The weather has me in a mood today. I woke up to the sound of rain and a very dark bedroom. It’s always hard getting up on days like these, but I’m here and I’m thinking about spring. It is just around the corner after all. What I really would like is the sun to shine. Sunshine has been pretty intermittent these days.
Lack of sunshine, however, hasn’t been confining me indoors, and the fact that it is almost spring means that I have plenty of reasons to get out and take a few pictures. The two most relevant reasons being one, that my boy is now a year older; and two, things are starting to bloom. Both being the perfect excuse to take a short drive over to the nearest battlefield for a gloomy afternoon photo shoot. At least it wasn’t raining on this particular day.
It’s kind of a thing that I like to do every year regardless of the weather. When my boy was younger, I would take him somewhere to get his pics taken, but now that I have a better camera, I try and do it myself. Although, my point and shoot camera has been sufficient in years past as well. I’m definitely not at photographer status, but it’s fun spending the day out, and I like to pretend that I know what I am doing when a camera is in my hands.
Here are a few photos from the day. I did get a handful to choose from of my boy, and I am working on editing those to get prints made. My boy is a lot less patient than I am when it comes to standing in front of a camera waiting to get that perfect shot. We took 95 pictures. Had he not been telling me every five minutes that he was so hungry, there may have been twice as many. I love taking pictures, what can I say!
I tried to sneak in a few of myself with my newest me-made skirt, but that didn’t go so well.
Remember, I am hungry he says.
He’s one of my biggest blessings, and I love every minute I spend with him! I am so thankful for all the time we have together. It was a fun day out, and luckily there was a Subway close by.
So cool and love your outfit! I can’t wait for the flowers to bloom.

Beautiful! Way better than springtime up here in Canada. One look outside my window this morning and you’d be running back down South!
