There was nothing that could have been done about this little ‘break’ of mine. I really didn’t mean for it to happen. In fact, I had a post for last Friday, but ran out of time to get my pictures uploaded, then before I knew it, what I had written had already become old news. I cannot believe how busy I have been lately! I don’t have time for much free time these days.
So what have I been up to besides teaching, the gym, cooking, trying to keep my house as clean as possible, and grading papers? Well, this week two things that were a little on the selfish side: visiting a couple of wineries and finishing up a dress.
The winery visits only happened because I had family in town, so I was able to tag along one day to see what a couple of the wine folks of Middle Tennessee were up to. This was great because one of these wine folks was more than eager to offer tips and advice pertaining to this little wine-making endeavor of mine. I learned a thing or two this particular day, and was able to add a couple more bottles of wine to my rapidly growing collection. I’m happy to have a different taste perspective on someone else’s muscadine wine.
Now for the dressmaking. I didn’t have the time to finish my latest project, but an unexpected day of taking care of children, led to a night not at the gym, which therefore made for just the perfect amount of time to finish up a work in progress. I couldn’t be happier with it; in fact, it may be my most favorite yet. I am anxiously awaiting proper photos so that I can tell you all about this new dress of mine.
And that is it, really. Having my time spent between the school room, the kitchen, and the gym, I’m lucky if I get more than five minutes to login onto my computer for anything other than recording grades. And should I find I have free time for anything else, I get myself back into the kitchen and prepare for the next day. It is such a wonderful thing early in the morning having a pot of coffee and lunch ready to go from the night before. Sometimes it’s those little things that make all the difference.
Now, I’m off to play photographer. It’s that time of the year again for our annual school group photos, and I have the wonderful job of getting to take the pictures. I love taking pictures, so today will definitely be more on the fun side. Photographing my newest me-made dress will have to wait a day or two more though. Luckily, my guy and I have plans for Sunday. Another winery trip is in our future, and maybe I can sneak in a little bit of a ‘new dress’ photo shoot. Perhaps my guy will be up for it…
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! I will be back to my normal blogging life ASAP, so please don’t give up on me yet.
