You know what else, time also flies when you’re not having fun. I have to say 2021 was not my most fun year. For me, it was even worse than the dreaded 2020. I’ve had the most stress and the most sadness I think I have ever have had this year. It started out pretty rough, but I am happy to say that 2021 is ending quite well. And since about September, I’ve been having a lot of fun! Fun or no fun, this year flew by. I feel it was the fastest year of my life, really. I say this every year, but something about this year just stands out as a flash of time. Despite the low moments of this year, I had plenty to be grateful for and thanks to working with a personal trainer and my own nutrition coach, I have been making a conscious effort to keep a gratitude journal where I write down three things I am grateful for every day at her suggestion. It’s a wonderful way to start the day and having a positive mindset is always a good thing.
I wanted to do a Friday post like I used to so consistently, but my recent weeks are very much a repeat of the week before, it’s like Groundhog’s Day everyday for me lately – totally not meaning that as a complaint, I quite like my recent repeating days. π Since there’s nothing about this week any different than the last, I will do a Friday Five post like I occasionally used to do, back in the day, where I write a few things I am happy about from this week. Here they are:

The puppy is getting better at potty training. Okay, so I hope you all don’t get tired of the puppy talk since it’s the primary focus of my daily life lately. This week she did very well on the leash outside and even though she doesn’t yet go to the door to let us know she needs out, she can go long stretches of time between bathroom breaks and there were less accidents this week.

The weather wasn’t that bad. I’ve been waiting on winter-like weather to show up, and after last weekend’s storms it cooled off, but not too cold. We’ve still been in the high 50s to 60’s during the day most the week and that has been nice for my daily walks down the road and for the mornings outside with the puppy. (I hope I am not speaking too soon about the weather as the weatherman has been warning us all week about these storms we are supposed to get later today and into tonight. They are calling for tornados, again. And it’s very humid and warm for a December day already today…)

My gym workouts have been going great! This week I did my highest weight on the leg press machine, 368 pounds! And with a trainer I have had great accountability to not miss my workouts on the days I feel like being lazy. I really cannot remember the last time I have been this consistent with weight training, if ever, 4 days a week for 9 weeks. And on a similar note to this, I’m on a 12 day streak of getting over 10,000 steps a day – another thing that my trainer has me doing and is holding me accountable for. She told me to get a raincoat or an umbrella cause rainy days are no excuse! Some days, I do miss having a treadmill. π

Ethan is doing well. I don’t talk too much of the boy these days since he’s moved out, but he’s been keeping in touch with me quite a bit these last few weeks. He really always does keep in touch, but more so lately and it just makes my day to hear from him. β€
Lastly for my list of five, I got to spend some time blogging this week. Two posts in one week; I am so happy with myself! Blogging is a bit of self-care for me, blogging and reading blogs that is, and I made time to do both.
There you have it, another week in my life and I am thankful for each and every moment. Have a wonderful weekend.
