Hello, hello! How are you all this fine October day? I must say, since I was last on here, things have changed. Computer things, not things pertaining to me. I think I have spent too much time away from computer technology and after an hour of converting photo files, I finally have some picture to go along with what I have been up to during this month long blogging absence.

September is always my busiest month. It’s harvest season at the muscadine farm and my mornings are mostly spent away from home. When I do find little bits of free time, I am either playing with dogs, mowing my back yard, or sneaking in a 45 minute nap. Blogging has continued to take the furthest back seat in my day to day life and I never meant for that to be the case.
I am here today, and I’ve got a nice little September recap for you all. Thank you to me for remembering to take some pictures here and there so that I would have a recollection for the blog.

Yes, the month started with muscadine harvest and it was a month long activity. Not nearly as much purple grapes as years before, I even pretty much picked a whole row the first day I picked, but we were not lacking with the white ones. We very easily filled our 1000 pound order for a winery customer.

And had plenty left over to crush for my own batches of wine. These are all currently filled with working wine, and the new addition to the wine room was a great success for a bee free pressing location.

Besides the regular day to day stuff that I get myself into, when I wasn’t picking grapes, we went to Nashville. This month’s trip had been planned since April, and because it was planned out so far in advance, I had a reason to be excused from jury duty mid month. The first time ever that I had been summoned and it had to be the one time that I wasn’t available. Thankfully that worked out well, and I am on week three of having to do a Monday check in to see if I am still needed. Who knows, I may have jury duty to report on the next time I have another blog post up over here.

Nashville. We had another long weekend away, much like last month, but this time it involved live music and rooftop drinks. All I ever want to do when we go to Nashville is have rooftop drinks! Well we got to this time. We stayed just off of the downtown strip in a cute little two story Air B and B. It was a 15 minute Uber ride from the Ryman Auditorium where we saw Explosions in the Sky. The show was awesome! And there was a very nice sky deck restaurant across the street from the Ryman where we got to have a little something before the show. We always manage to have a great time whenever we go to Nashville.

And that brings me to now, October the 4th. It’s already been a pretty busy month. I am in the middle of doing a deep clean of my house – this happens about every 6 weeks. I have done some yard work and made a start at the beginning of the month budgeting, paperwork, and such. I am kind of in the middle of three things at once so I am doing my best at being a multitasker.

I will leave you all with a picture of this saddle back caterpillar. The only thing I got stung by this year while working in the vineyard. (All the mosquito bites I got don’t count.)
Hope everyone is having a great start to October! Until next time, enjoy your days. ❤
