A good Monday to you all! I am having a great start to my week and have plenty of things planned. Before I get to all of them though, I have some pictures edited and ready to go from our eclipse trip, and since I couldn’t decide on what to post about first, the eclipse or my month so far, I am going to combine the two. Here is what April has looked like for me so far…

The first week of the month started with sunshine, a coffee date, and more work on the RV park. The dogs had their monthly grooming appointment and as I usually do, I met up with a friend for coffee and chit chat while I had time to kill waiting for the pups. We stopped in an antique shop and I found a neat little napkin holder. Stephen was not a fan, he said it looked like it should be in a Disney movie and just needed eyes on it, so it shall be a pattern/letter holder for me in my sewing room. I like it!

Over at the RV park, the shelter got a roof and the top level walls started to go up. I was just there as the door dasher of nails and food. Plus I am the designated documentarian.

Week two we were Kentucky bound. Stephen got off work to see the eclipse this time, and we headed to where there would be almost 3 minutes of totality. We had several friends make the trek with us and it was a nice afternoon of lounging in the park while we waited for totality. It was breathtakingly amazing, Stephen said. He even got chills. For me, since I had seen it once before I knew what to expect, but that didn’t take away from how incredible a sight it was. I took way less pictures this time than the last so I got to experience the moment not as much behind the lens. The pups tagged along and were fine to be in their crate when it happened and got a little more training on being around people in an unfamiliar environment while we hung out that day. We all had a good time!

Last week was work around the house week. I had a few days of yard work and Stephen even helped with painting around the back deck door. I was starting to do it, but thankfully he took over that job. Painting is not my favorite thing to do. 🙂

We have started this week on a productive note. Yesterday Stephen cleaned 27 bee hive frames and set up some more boxes on the bee hives. Both hives survived the winter! We also checked out the vineyard to make sure things are growing, and Stephen got in some target practice while I made sure to get it all documented. The weather was absolutely perfect!

Now for this week. It’s the week before vacation so I have all the things to do and I have a goal to be packed and ready two days early this time. Last trip we took I didn’t pack until the night before, and I just prefer to be a little more prepared than that.

Hope you all have a great week!

  1. I used to be one of those “the night before packer” The excitement would not let me sleep, so mind as well stay up checking off things on the list.

but once I went from empty nester to a snow bird, I prepare and just about pack weeks or days ahead, it’s less stress

    enjoy your vacation!
