I really like these WordPress Weekly Photo Challenges. It is nice to have a photographic assignment for the week. Most of the time I comb the hard drive and find something from my photo archives for the week. This also gives me the perfect excuse to try and learn more about Photoshop. A lot of the time with Photoshop I don’t know where to begin, but lately I am getting better at what I do begin with.
I haven’t participated in a few weeks, and the theme of Illumination caught my attention. Last night I got to spend some time looking at all of the night pictures I had that I hadn’t really cared much for before. I was surprised to find a few that I don’t think I had ever seen! Well, I worked on some of the photos and then earlier today, something else came to mind.
Here is a photo that captures the theme of Illumination so perfectly for me this very day, I forgot about those others and here is what I now have for this week’s challenge. (We are, after all, supposed to share a photo that is a personal interpretation of the week’s topic, right?)
In case this illuminated green light isn’t jumping right out at you and you are not too sure of what this picture is, let me tell you. It is the new router in our house that was, just this very day, connected to high speed internet. Yes, after five years, we finally have real, reliable, high speed internet. (Turns out I had nothing to fear after all!) An illuminated green light never looked so good – to me that is.
And since I spent the time working on a few other photos for this week, here they are also. I think these next two might be a little bit better than the illuminated green light router picture. 🙂

I almost didn’t save this last edit. I thought maybe it was too dark and almost kind of grainy, but then, the more I looked at it, the more I liked it.
This concludes my weekly photo challenge. I will try to get to bed at a decent hour tonight and not spend too much time catching up on what I think I have missed out on online lately.
Great shots!! I love the ‘Big Ben’ photo especially – it looks almost vintage!

Thank you! I kind of thought it had a vintage look too. That is mostly why I liked the way it came out.
