It doesn’t even seem like it should be the third Thursday of the month! Had I not been paying attention, I might not have even had this post ready in time. Life got busy this week and I am only glad the sun was shining the morning I went out to take these pictures. Sunshiny, yes, but warm, no. In fact, as I was shivering in the backyard taking photos of myself, it occurred to me that this day was my coldest outfit photo day yet. Luckily, my dress was warm, but my hands being uncovered, were what felt the cold the most.
Temperatures aside, this warm dress is my thrifty item of the week. I assumed it was a dress when I got it, but it is a lot shorter than I would have liked for a dress. I usually wear it with leggings and a sweater on top since it is sleeveless, but today I felt like changing it up some, and went with the over a pair of jeans and long sleeved t-shirt look.
The dress is thick and feels kind of like wool. I really like the pleats and the viscose material is so soft. Unfortunately, it only gets worn maybe once a year. The length, the low neckline, and the fact that it is sleeveless makes it an awkward choice for most days. Also, the pinkish trim matches nothing in my closet, plus most of my black is too faded to look good with it. I found it at the Clothing Exchange in Nashville, and probably paid more than I normally would have for a thrifted item. The actual amount escapes me now, but whatever it was it was worth it. The quality is great and I think it will last for a really long time, especially based on how often it doesn’t get worn.
Details: Dress – Archive (thrifted) // Shirt – Faded Glory // Jeans – Mudd // Shoes – Doc Martens (ebay)
I love the lace details and the tag is even pretty.
How about you, how much is too much to spend at a second hand store? I don’t usually like to spend more than $10 for one item, but sometimes I can’t help it.
Do you have something thrifted up on your blog today? Leave me a link, or tag it with ThursdayThrift so I can find you and link you up.
Here are some other lovely thrifters and the outfits they have come up with for this week:
Until next time, happy thrifting!

Do you stick with a theme every week? I would definitely be up for throwing my posts your way on the weeks that I do a thrift post and then put a link back to yours. I don’t know if I could come up with something every week though, but with $.99 Wednesdays at my local Goodwill, I could definitely find some more outfits to get me up to a thrifty post a week… 🙂
