Fall has finally arrived!  Around Thursday it cooled down and I couldn’t be happier.  With the cooler weather has come the fall like dreary days.  I’m not a fan of those as much, but on Sundays when it rains, I get to do things around the house that I don’t normally do these days – like blog.  Yup, I’m back up and running over here.  I got my WordPress site updated, and I now have all the theme options.  I don’t even know if I am ready for a make over, but you best believe I am browsing all my choices.  Nothing wrong with a little blog TLC.

But before I start previewing themes and checking out what’s available for that, things last week looked a little like this:

Sunday, October 7th:

Bee hive check and property tour.  Also, lots of muscadines to be pressed.  All that I picked on Friday needed to be turned to juice, so I did this while my guy took a peek at the beehives.  All looks good, so far, and we will start with the winter feeding soon.  Afterwards, we checked on the hunting fields and looked for signs of deer.  It’s still almost 90 degrees so no hunting anytime soon.  The property also got a new addition.  My dad made a great big pot and Ethan’s just checking it out.  Even looks big enough for him to flip off of it.  Ha ha!

Monday, October 8th:

The last day of picking for the season!  I’m happy about this.  We sold a lot this year, I have a few batches of wine going, and two freezers just about full for the winter.  More wine will be in the making soon, and more bottles will be added to the cellar.  Now, back to that other thing that takes up most of my time, school with the boy.  We have two weeks left of the nine weeks and the grape picking was a nice distraction to the soon approaching, inevitable end of my boy’s high school life. (Insert cry face emoji here.)

Tuesday, October 9th:

School meet day today, and the mood was a somber one.  This was the day my friend was in the hospital and we were anxiously awaiting what was going on and what was going to happen.  By the end of the day, things had taken a turn for the better but it was still an emotional day for me.  I had anxiety and all of a sudden I started to worry about my own health.  I am guilty of being an occasional over thinker.  I am happy now that everything is fine and my friend is home.  ❤

No gym this evening, as I really had no motivation for anything at all.  The week was a bit of an emotional roller coaster, not just for me but for all three of us.

Wednesday, October 10th:

First thing, we took my guy’s car to the shop.  We noticed a small little thing that needed to be tended to.  Two days later, it’s kind of a big thing and we probably won’t have the car back for another week or so.  At least we’ve been diligently keeping a budget, tracking every single dollar, so we have an emergency fund and this is only a slight inconvenience.  I should have expected it though, it seems we can’t get close to a taking a trip without some type of vehicle situation, and we’ve got a trip coming up.  Moving on… The rest of the day was pretty normal: grading, cleaning, cooking.  The boy is off work this week and it’s nice to have him around.

Thursday, October 11th:

The day it cooled down!  I had high hopes for this day.  There was an event in Jackson this evening at a fancy restaurant I’ve been wanting to go to for awhile.  But, with all that’s been happening this week, it wasn’t going to work out.  Instead, my guy came home with a bottle of wine and we sat by the fire pit.  We almost didn’t think the fire was gonna take off, but after almost a whole newspaper, it did.  I truly enjoyed that hour outside.  The rest of the night, didn’t end as nicely as it started.  It’s been a roller coaster week, remember, and we’ve got a growing up teenager in the house and a sometimes emotional me.  Life, I’m in the the middle of it.  Enough said.

On a gym note, I did work out, twice today, and I was very happy about that.  I’m still moving through my Beachbody program, slowly but surely.  🙂

Friday, October 12th:

Yay, it’s Friday!  But, boo, the AC people had to come out again.  We got a new AC motor about a month ago and just realized when it cooled down and we turned the unit off that it wasn’t wired correctly.  At least it wasn’t an extra expense, and it was a good thing we caught it when we did or else the new motor would have probably gone out sooner than it should have.  After this, I took a trip to the property to try and sweeten some wine and see what was going on out there.  The weather is beautiful and I’m not complaining one bit about these dropping temps.

This day though was my guy’s turn to have a bad day.  It’s just been one of those weeks.

The Weekend:

Here we are.  I didn’t sleep well or much last night, so today has been very unproductive.  If I get half of the laundry done that I need to do, I will be happy.  Today’s not been all bad though, and we still have the rest of it to make the best of.  And that’s where I am now.  We had a late lunch so I don’t have to cook dinner, yay and I just upgraded my blog.  I have lots to play around with, and I can upload pictures again.  🙂

Think I will get back to messing with it.  One more week before our fall break.  I am very much looking forward to that!

A picture from a couple of weeks ago.  I was surprised to see so many flowers that late in the season.  You all have a great night.  I will be back soon.
