Good morning!  How is everyone’s week going so far?  Mine has been a bit up and down.  I have a dear friend in the hospital, hopefully getting out today, and I just can’t get that out of my mind.  But on a more personal, dealing with me level, I’ve been busy.  What else is new?

After my last post, that one that I made using the new WordPress template, it came to my attention that I have finally run out of storage space on my blog.  Those pictures I couldn’t get to load last week wouldn’t load because there was no where for them to go.  I have three options now: post without any pictures, upgrade my account, or use a photo sharing/storage site to link my pictures from.  For the time being, I am going to start using my Flikr account and link my pictures from there.  Eventually, I think I will upgrade my WordPress.  After all, I have been contemplating this for a while now.  I can’t believe that I have been blogging since December of 2011.

Moving on to last week, I will start with Sunday, September 30th:

Racked the rest of the wine that needed to be taken care of and also got to spend some time with the guys in my life watching the Titan’s football game afterwards.  Then, not much else going on for that day.

Vineyard Helpers

Monday, October 1st:

This week’s goal is to pick all the grapes.  Started the week with some helpers in the vineyard.  At this point, the freezers are about full and I’ve sold all that I am going to sell, so whoever wants any came come and get them.  I’m also taking advantage of the last of the summer sun.  I know it’s fall, but this pretty much sums up fall so far:

Tuesday, October 2nd:

It’s our first school field trip and the boy and I did not attend.  He had to work this afternoon, and the drive was too far for not being able to stay that long.  Instead, we enjoyed the day off from work and I tried to get caught up on things around the house.  There’s always laundry and cleaning to be done.  This afternoon I made my way to Jackson to meet Stephen for the monthly bee meeting.  We had dinner and I watched the rain while I waited for him.  I am forever without an umbrella, ha ha!

Wednesday, October 3rd:

It’s crush and press all the grapes we’ve been picking day!  There were about 9 gallons of juice total but most of that was what my friend picked.  The day started foggy and ended much like every other day lately, hot and humid.  It was at least 90 degrees!  So it’s starting to look kind of like fall, but it definitely doesn’t feel like it.

Thursday, October 4th:

In the vineyard again bright and early, but today we had some gleaners.  A couple that a neighbor knew stopped by to pick and so I took a break and let them have what they wanted.  Walked around and peeking in on the bee yard, saw a hornet steal a bee mid air, it was crazy!  And then when the work at the property was done, came home and picked up where I left off there.

Friday, October 5th:

Guess there were more grapes left than I thought after all the pickers got done this week.  After this morning, we have another huge cooler full to press.  More juice, which isn’t a bad thing.  I spent the rest of the afternoon paying bills, and trying to get ready for the weekend.  This is an overly edited picture, it came out too dark, but it was my vineyard creature find of the week:

And that’s about it for last week.  I bet you all are tired of hearing about the muscadines, so good news about that is I am done with them as of this current week.  I may do a creatures in the vineyard post sometime soon, but other than that, I should be done talking grapes until this time next year.  I am ready for the extra morning time to work on my blog and figure out what I am going to do with it.

Gotta go now, it’s almost time for school.
