About a year ago, I had this idea,  Why not open an Etsy shop and sell handmade dresses.  It was a good idea, and I still think it’s a good idea, but some of my stock is already a year old, and selling online is kind of a slow process.  Especially when you don’t spend the time marketing your stuff, or have a big variety of merchandise.  I’ve had a few sales in the year I’ve been open and even more likes/favorites, but for the most part, my items are expiring faster than they are selling.

It’s time to restock, make some new stuff, and since this lovely dress had come up for renewal, I decided to keep it for myself.  I got a couple of compliments on it the day I wore it – wearable advertising, ha ha – and I told my guy it was probably one of the best dresses I’ve ever made, construction wise.  It even has a size tag on it!

This was one of the few that I wished I had more material of so I could have made one for myself.  Well, the wait is over, and I finally have it all to myself.  I absolutely love the colorway.  Neutrals are kind of my thing, I’ve noticed.  And I love that it pairs with several colors in my closet.

I am not sure that my Etsy dress shop will ever take off, I’ve been thinking of other things to make for it; but for now, I am happy to have new dresses for myself while I figure the whole thing out.

Now tell me, what kind of stuff do you look for and buy on Etsy?  I appreciate the feedback.  🙂

  1. I like all of your dresses!!! Maybe make some in different styles and colors that you wouldn’t wear. Maybe some skirts and blouses. Just some ideas trying to be helpful.
