Sunday, November 18th:
My weekends have been pretty uneventful lately. This particular weekend though, I did finish up a dress that I had cut out and started back in July. I just have to hem it, but I am debating even doing that as it is knit, a very full skirt, and the serged hem doesn’t look that bad. I probably will though. Also this weekend, I cut out a new dress and started on it Sunday afternoon after a quick trip to Jackson. The boy helped his cousin move, so it was pretty quiet here for most of the day.
Monday, November 19th:
I got the boy started with his school and hung around in case he had any math questions. Once he was good, I had to make a quick trip to Jackson to ship out some frozen muscadines. They were going to Middle Tennessee so I was only a little worried about them defrosting completely and ruining the box. I needed a zipper and something from Sam’s for dinner real quick afterwards and then it was back home, but first a quick detour to the muscadine farm.
This afternoon I was starting to feel a little under the weather. Sinus pressure and a lump in my throat. I finished up that dress I started over the weekend and took a short nap before the gym hoping it would help me feel better. It didn’t. I got up and decided not to push myself. Stephen was home late this evening and so was Ethan.
Tuesday, November 20th:
I don’t feel too bad, but I don’t feel too good either. We met for school, and several of the group weren’t feeling well today so we made it an early day. I came home with a pounding headache and a house to clean up. I did a little here and a little there, but really needed groceries so my guy met me at the store and I just said no to the gym once again. Dinner was easy, I cheated and got something already made from Walmart. There wasn’t a lot going on tonight either.
Wednesday, November 21st:
I feel fine today. Got the boy started with school and did some stuff on the computer. My guy decided to take half the day off since things were pretty slow at work, and wanted to come home and go hunting. I got invited to go sit in a tree, so I said yes. 🙂
I had a nice time. My first experience in this particular type of tree stand and I will admit I was very nervous sitting in it for about the first 45 minutes. Let me refresh your memory, it looked like this. It’s high up there too, the pic with my boy in it is cropped.
Once it seemed we weren’t going to go crashing to the ground, I relaxed and just enjoyed the sights and sounds. It was a beautiful day. I heard one deer in the distance and it sounded like a dinosaur approaching, it was making some weird wheezing type noises. I saw it as it ran through the woods behind us but it never did stop. Then I heard another one a little later. The day was quickly fading and it took awhile for it to appear. Once it did, Stephen spooked it cause he thought it was a dog. A big dog I guess, cause I saw it and it looked like a buck. Then I thought maybe it was a mountain lion when Stephen whispered big dog. It turned around and ran, after being frozen in the shadowy brush for a brief moment, and there was no doubt about it then that it was a big buck, and it had a follower. Ug, so close! Maybe next time. But it was an exciting hunting trip for me. I always only hear squirrels and get bored. I didn’t this time.
Thursday, November 22nd:
The guys were up early and they went hunting this morning. I slept in. When I got up, I had the big idea to take some pictures of my newest made dress. I’m not sure if I like them well enough to post, but maybe later today I will look at them again and see what I can do with them. Once the guys got back, I started making a stew. It simmered most the day while Stephen napped and Ethan played games. We ate and then spent time in the backyard and once again got a fire going in the fire pit. Totally feels like a Sunday!
Friday, November 23rd:
Here I am this morning, on top of things today. I just got done online shopping. What did I get, I hear you silently ask? Fabric. I got fabric because I am a fabric hoarder. I searched for some online black Friday sales that I had email offers for, but didn’t see anything I had to have. And since everyone else is shopping today, I might as well find something for me to buy…
I can always find things to buy on fabric.com, and I did. Fabric hoarder status: level 10.
And that has been my week so far. This weekend, I am racking wine and probably getting a start on some new dresses with the material I already have. I haven’t made a single thing from my make 9 list that I put out at the beginning of the year, and at this point I am not sure I even will. We shall see…
Have a great weekend, everyone!
