Rejoice for the Day

The Wet and Rainy Days of Winter

Scroll down to content

I’ve been just as busy as I was last time I checked in over here.  In fact, I spent most of last week, once again, away from home.  I was very happy to have woken up to snow on Friday because that just meant I was gonna be able to catch up on some stuff around the house.  And I did, but unfortunately, my house is a mess from the weekend and I am back to where I was on Friday, at home and having to do more cleaning than I’d like.  At least it’s raining today so there will be no need to get out of the house.

We had a nice weekend.  The boy was gone for a big chunk of it, so my guy and I made do as a party of two, once again.  The day is getting closer and closer to where that will be the everyday norm, and I am not at all ready for that next part of my life.  But, in the meantime, I will continue on just as I have been, happy for every moment as a party of three.

Shall we talk about the weather?  It’s been wet and dreary.  But with the exception of snow on Friday, it has been pretty warm despite the time of year.  Highs in the 60’s last week which made for some nice time spent in the vineyard pruning.  Things are actually starting to bloom!

Also, the wine making has been going well.  I have several really good batches going right now and I’ve been racking, bottling, and barreling the last couple of weeks.  I think I will even have the freezers empty before long so a couple more batches are going to be making their way into the wine room.

Now for the things I haven’t done.  I’ve not touched my sewing machine in weeks, I’ve not even had the desire to start any new dresses despite all the new fabric I have, and I’ve been out of ideas in the kitchen – getting a little tired of the same ole stuff that I make all the time.  All that decluttering I started working on last month has come to a halt.  And all those blog posts I have in my head to write, well, you know they’re nowhere to be found.  I started this school year thinking that without my boy to teach I’d have all this extra time, but it doesn’t seem that way just yet.  My free days are very much full lately.  I heard about time blocking in a podcast I started listening to, so that is something I am starting to try out with my day to day.  I think this should help me be able to get more things done that I would like to do.  Plus, I am still very much interested in a nutrition certification and the classes I want to take for that start in a couple of months.  I’d like to have a good schedule in place when that comes up so I don’t find myself overwhelmed.  There is just so much I want to do, and not enough time in the day to do it.

Speaking of time, it is getting away from me and I haven’t had breakfast yet, so I will wrap it up over here for the day.  Maybe with my new time blocking methods, I’ll be a better blogger.  😉

Have a great Monday!

Oh, and I didn’t give up on recording a second a day of my life.  Here was January.
