It’s Summer, Now What?

Hello, hello! Summer time is here and I don’t know what to do about it. It’s a strange kind of summer for me. The first that wasn’t marked by some kind of starting point. Usually, in years past, once school was over, it was summer. We had 14 weeks to cram all the fun in. Now that I’m not a part of school in any way, the days just blend together, and if it weren’t for the fact that the calendar told me, I wouldn’t even know it was summer.

So, I’ve only just begun to do summer things. Last week I picked blueberries – a very summer activity. And I went to the swimming pool for the first time in probably two years. I made it through the day sunburn free, which is probably a first and probably had something to do with the cloud cover of the day. No complaints here!

There will no doubt be more pool days, and more summer fruit picking days – the blackberries will be ready in abundance any day now. And I am hoping for plenty of days to spend with friends that I don’t usually get to spend time with. I have been busy, I’m about to wrap up several sessions with some nutrition clients and I am absolutely enjoying that part of my day to day. Some sewing projects are also calling my name. Since my sewing room is finally all cleaned and organized, I am ready for projects and making a mess. I’ve not felt the urge to make anything lately, but I think I am getting the itch to create once again.

Hopefully my guy and I can plan a weekend trip or two before the summer gets away from us. Or, maybe I can just hitch a ride with my boy, he’s about to make his third beach trip this season. I have traveling on my mind more than anything to do these days. We need a vacation!

And so summer will continue to move along with or without my knowledge of it. And I do hope to enjoy all that I can. Even despite my dislike of humidity. 🙂

What are your summer plans?

Oh, and here was what May looked like, one second a day. ❤

*Posting pictures from summer’s past since I have no recent ones to show.
