Bee Balm // Product Review

BeeBalmSalve

First off, I am not that much of a regular beauty blogger, I know this.  But, that is not gonna stop me from pretending being one today and writing about this new salve I have recently come across that I just love.  I have tried this product review thing before, and I kind of liked it, so here is another go at it.  Behold, my thoughts on my newest, most favorite eye cream – for the moment.

Secondly, I bought this product with my own money, and was not under any obligation to write a review for it.  Now that those two things are out of the way, let me tell you about this Bee Balm from Black Hills Honey Farm.

I am always on the lookout for creams, lotions, moisturizers and such that are reasonably priced, and good for your skin.  I know I could just make the stuff myself, and I have, but sometimes for me, just finding something ready to use beats the make-it-yourself method.  I usually buy these kinds of things online, (totally beats Whole Food’s prices and they are delivered to my door; Whole Foods is also an hour and a half away).  So, I often browse different products and I have a very long wish list on iherb.com.  This last time I ordered, I found this Bee Balm.  It said it was a salve, had great ingredients, and had Patchouli in it, I had to try it out.  I was in need of an under-eye cream and I wanted to try something different than my usual.

My sense of smell was very pleased when I first opened it up, I LOVE patchouli.  The ingredients were all to my approval and it is just the right consistency for an under-eye cream.  The packaging didn’t specify that it was for use as an eye cream, but that was what I had in mind when I bought it.  The ingredients are also good for all kinds of things such as, aging skin, cuts and scrapes, rough, cracked skin, and it even has antibacterial properties since there is honey in it.

I tend to always have chapped lips, so that is also what I use it for, and it works great.  I keep this little container by my bed and put it on every night before I go to sleep.  I am very pleased with it and I even sometimes find myself opening it up just to smell it, I love the way it smells, it has patchouli, remember?

The cost is great, $5.95 on iherb.com.  (By the way, I am also not under any obligation to be writing about iherb.com, I just really like this website and it is where I found this product.)  I usually spend $15.00 – $20.00 on things like this so it was a bargain.  My one and only complaint is that when I received the package, I was a little disappointed as to the size.  It was much smaller than I was expecting.  I should have paid more attention to the website’s description because it said right there how big it was.  However, it is similar in size to what I usually buy for eye cream.  Still a great deal, and I will be buying this again.  It would be handy to carry one with me since it is also good for cuts and scrapes.  I have a 12 year old who is always getting cuts and scrapes.

After doing a little more research on this product, I found a few others to try.  They also make a burn ointment, a sinus remedy, a headache salve, a muscle and joint rub (I totally need this) and something just for dry, patchy skin; all with herbal, natural ingredients.  My wish list just got a little bit bigger!

Has anyone else tried something similar?    And, how was that for a beauty product review?  Just remember, I am not usually a beauty blogger (unless I feel like being one for the day).  🙂
