Black and White

Is it already the first week of October?  I almost cannot believe it.  I am just amazed at how fast this whole year is flying by.  Since it is the first week in October, that means this is the first Thursday of the month and therefore, I have a Thursday Thrift post for you all.  It’s another great find, this beautiful black and white skirt, originally from Talbot’s, that I found at the Goodwill for less than $5.  (Please excuse the wrinkles, I had already worn it for a day before getting a photo.)

I usually go straight to the skirt section when I make it to my neighborhood Goodwill.  It is the one part of the store where I always find something.  When thrifting, It is easy to find a skirt that I like, compared to hardly ever finding any dresses or shirts.  The only place a skirt has to fit me is it at the waist.  And, I can get away with a size small or a size medium, so there is a lot to choose from.

Black and white is one of, if not my number one, color combination.  These colors can go with almost anything.  I am particularly fond of the two of them together.  Sometimes I think I have too many items that are both black and white, but then quickly change my mind the next time I come across another skirt, or dress, or pair of pants with these colors.  It is a favorite, and I just can’t help but to like them when they are together.

You can never go wrong when adding a bold, colored accessory to this color combination either.  Too bad I have no bold colored accessories, just tights, and it isn’t quite cold enough for them yet.  Maybe another trip to the Goodwill is in order…
