Thoughts and Sights From the Week

Tennessee State Capitol Building

Hi there!  How was this week for you all?  A pretty nice one for me, short and long all at the same time.  Yesterday was like a second Sunday so today completely feels like a Monday, but I keep reminding myself that it is the weekend tomorrow so everything is all good.

There was a little bit of traveling for me this week, and a lot of staying home.  We had our second school field trip to Nashville on Monday to tour the State Capitol and visit the Frist Museum.  Then, the rest of the school week was spent working at home.  Not having to leave the house for a few days, and the day off yesterday, gave me some extra time to sew.  I made two dresses this week, I can’t even believe it.  Both of them came out great and I am so much on a roll with this dressmaking thing, I already ordered more material and several new patterns in the last couple of days.  I will be keeping myself busy the remainder of hunting season, unless my boy decides he wants me to sit in a deer stand with him.  So far he is happy hunting with my guy, so I may be okay to sit in front of the sewing machine a few more weeks.  I am inspired!

Enough of sewing talk, I am also inspired to learn how to use my camera.  (One of these days I will quit talking about it, I promise.)  I was a little disappointed with my first day of taking pictures with it.  I already knew, but then had my thoughts reaffirmed, that I have way more camera than I know what to do with.  In my defense, the photos I took were almost all in low light, without a flash, or even a steady hand in some cases.  I did get a lot of really good photos, however, not all of them were as wonderful as I had hoped for.  My guy did make me feel better about this when I got home and started complaining about my lack of DSLR knowledge, and he also downloaded a handful of how to books and instructionals for me to read.  I am already learning stuff, and it turns out it isn’t going to be as hard as I thought to figure the thing out.  Just another thing for me to learn about that’s all.  My free time will just be split between blogging, sewing, winemaking, and photography.  I am fine with that.

Well, that is all I have to say today.  I am off to fill up my water bottle.  I read an article that showed up in my Facebook feed via my sister about drinking a gallon of water a day.  I usually drink half a gallon no problem, but adding that other half is proving to be much harder than I thought.

Enjoy the weekend everyone!
