It’s been months since I’ve done an outfit post. Months!? In fact, I was looking back at my pictures and I think I have only taken pics for two outfits this whole year; we’re almost half way through this whole year. What is up?
I hate to sound like a broken record, but I just can’t get over these ‘bad hair days’ lately (figuratively speaking). Even though I think I had the worst hair day of the whole year the day of my niece’s wedding (literally speaking), I still loved the dress I wore and wanted to get a few pictures of it with the pretty new blue shoes I got to go with it.
It rained on the day of the wedding, which is pretty typical of special events for us. It always rains when we have a reason to get dressed up. This weekend’s graduation was no exception, although for that the rain was gone by the time we needed to put on the nice clothes.
I took these photos a few weeks later as the pics I took on the wedding day didn’t come out that well at all – those cloudy rainy days do nothing for outfit photos! I wore blue, and the dress was decided upon because of the shoes. They matched oh, so well, don’t you think?
I will say my hair was done up a bit more on wedding day, but then let you know that it ended up looking much like you see in the photo above because all my curls pretty much lost their curl before dinner time. Uh, humid, rainy days will do that to my hair EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Despite the ‘bad hair day,’ I had a wonderful time at the wedding. The outfit I chose was perfect. I love this color and find that I am drawn to dark blue these days. Maybe cause I know that I need more articles of clothing to wear with the shoes – I don’t think I have anything else this color in my closet. I got my dress at Macy’s and it was almost half off, so I spent less than $30 on it. Another thing I like about the dress is that I know it will get worn again. It’s not too fancy not to, and with tights, I will even wear it year round.
Not having enough time to make a dress isn’t always a bad thing.
