The week started off much nicer than it is ending. I am not in the best of moods today, but let me start where I last left off…
Sunday, February 11th:
A day much like any other Sunday. We slept in and had a nice morning at home. With no particular plans this day, we left the house in the early afternoon and headed out to the cabin. Not much going on, just saying our hellos and checking if the wine had gotten any better – most of it still tastes the same. I worked on a baby quilt this morning and that’s been the extent of my sewing these days. I still haven’t gotten anything else posted on Etsy, I just barely got color safe bleach to wash the dress I need to take pictures of. The dress was this deer one, so it’s not the one for sale, but it is the one I need pictures of for my listing. That’s on the top of the list for next week. This evening I made a quick trip to Walmart for dinner stuff. We had burgers and they were good. And that was pretty much it for Sunday.
Monday, February 12th:
I spent most of the day out of town. The boy’s photography class was cancelled due to the teacher being sick and that was actually great for me as I had a little more time at home before I headed to Memphis with my niece. I went with her to her midwife appointment just out of Memphis and we made an afternoon of it. We had lunch at Olive Garden afterwards and then hit Costco and Ikea before coming home. I passed by a perfect photo spot, but decided not to even bother as I didn’t want to be, Hey, Sarai, do you mind waiting in the car while I walk over there and take pictures. Instead I am using several of my boy’s photos this week. They were the reason I even went to Costco and IKEA. I was picking up pictures that he printed and then needed to go next door to get picture frames. I grabbed KFC for dinner and I am only mentioning it because I think it has been at least six years since I have had KFC. Unlike most of our impulsive fast food purchases, this one wasn’t too bad. I think it will be another six years until we go back, however. There is better fried chicken out there in my opinion.
Tuesday, February 13th:
Normally we’d be meeting up with our school group today, but several are sick so that didn’t happen. We instead enjoyed our day at home. I had lots to do so not leaving the house was a welcome relief. Also, my guy wasn’t feeling the best and he came home early from work. I skipped out on the gym and hung out at home with him instead. I did feel bad about not having been at the gym since last Monday, but got over it pretty quickly. Nothing too exciting for dinner, left over Frito pies and I think the boy will run away from home if we have Frito pies or nachos again soon. Too much of a good thing is real, even when it comes to food. I am kind of on the same page with him about this, surprisingly.
Wednesday, February 14th:
Once again we did school at home. When your school group is so small, a few people out makes it not worth meeting. There was rain this day, I think. Or has it been raining everyday lately? Well, the weather warmed up and it was wet, that I remember for sure. Nothing exciting to report on as I can’t remember and nothing is standing out. I did go to the gym. I took a class and did weights and ended up sore for the rest of the week. What I should be doing is going to the gym in the morning with my boy, that way when things come up later in the day, I for sure got it in. Maybe next week. This evening I made soup for dinner and it was your typical Wednesday night for us. The boy is working during his regular Wednesday gymnastics class lately, so we didn’t go watch him tumble tonight. Thursday is his new class day now.
Thursday, February 15th:
The busiest day of the week and I was worn out by the end of it. I headed out to the property early to help prune the muscadine vines. It’s been raining on and off all week so today was the day to do some of it for me. I half way expected to only make it til noon before the rain showed up, but the sun came out instead. The boy had school, his photo class, and work so my nephew Caleb was my help instead. At 2:30 when I quit, all the Carlos rows were done and thanks to Caleb a lot of the cut vines had been gathered up. It was a windy 70 degrees today, and I’d say a perfect day for working in the vineyard. Made it home with a bit of time before heading to the gym and I got my second gym workout of the week in. I’ve gone from consistently going 4-5 days a week to about 3 days lately, and missing those couple of days makes a huge difference. I’ve been sore half the week. Good news is, I never have any trouble sleeping.
Friday, February 16th:
I woke up with a headache and Stephen woke up not feeling well. This cold season has been bad, and while I’ve managed to not get sick twice, my guy has been under the weather twice. He stayed home today and I tried to go about my normal Friday routine. My headache was gone once I got going, but the mood in the house was a little on the down side today. It started last night and it happens sometimes. It wasn’t my best day. We did end the night with a sous vide steak dinner, and I am happy to say I ended the night with a clean kitchen. I love it when that happens. So the day wasn’t really that bad.
That’s where I am right now. Overall not the best day, but not the worst either, and I am pretty sure I won’t lose any sleep over it.
That was my week. How was yours? As an added bonus, here’s a little video clip of the last week and a half of my life. One Second Everyday is the app and I really like it. It’s a work in progress.
