I am back on the blogging wagon, and I couldn’t think of a better way to start the week off over here than with a new post of what’s been going on.
Quite a bit, actually. It was a loooong week last week. And it started with a nice weekend out and about.
I’ve been needing to go to Nashville for awhile now, and last Friday was the day I was going to go. I talked my guy into making the trip with me so it turned into a fun day out rather than a boring day running errands. First stop was the brewing shop for wine bottles, then just next door to look at vintage guitars. This was for Stephen, of course, because what do I know about guitars? He left with a new strap and capo, plus he got to play a few really nice old instruments.
Then, my only request was to find this neat structure thing that I saw on Instagram some where in the downtown area, and take pictures of it. I looked it up the night before and found it was just outside the Ascend Amphitheater. Everything cool I see in Nashville shows up in my Instagram feed – it’s like my phone knows what I like and or want to see!?
We found the cool statue thing and also found parking nearby, so we were set for a few hours of walking around. What I didn’t expect was all the people! But, then, why didn’t I expect all the people? It was a Friday afternoon in Nashville, downtown Nashville. It’s always busy down there.
We took pictures and then walked through the crowds to find a place to eat lunch. We went with the restaurant in the Merchant’s Building because someone had told me they had great food. They were right, and it only took 30 minutes to get a table downstairs for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Next time we will try the steakhouse upstairs. 🙂
The weekend was nice and laid back. No vineyard work to do so instead we got the drone out and took some pics. Got a video as well, but I haven’t done anything with it. Stephen and I found ourselves, once again, out somewhere for lunch Sunday afternoon, but surrounded by a lot less people in Jackson.

Now for the week that just passed. Monday didn’t end as it was intended. First thing for the day, pick grapes for a few orders I had then clean up and get ready for the week a little earlier than usual. Stephen and I were off to a social event this evening, that was the plan anyway, and I even bought new shoes for the occasion. Unfortunately the shoes were from Amazon, my first shoe purchase from them, and they were the wrong item completely. I settled on a pair I already had, but even then the shoes stayed home.
You see, we didn’t even make it to the banquet cause right as I was about to head out, Ethan called and had hurt himself tumbling. He’s twisted an ankle here and there but this was his knee and he was sure it wan’t a little thing. Got him to urgent care then home and it was off to the couch he went for the remainder of the week. Not a good start to the week. We had plenty of ups and downs, but as far as that goes, it ended on a good note as he just got checked out this morning and it seems to only be a sprained MCL. Could have been much worse. He still has some recovery time to go through, so he’s still spending a lot of time sitting on the couch.
Wednesday and Friday I picked and sold more muscadines and I officially made Friday my last day for fresh fruit. That doesn’t mean all things muscadines are over though. I was back in the wine room yesterday racking wine and getting ready for some bottling. My wine-making hobby is pretty much a year round thing but the time outside is coming to an end for this year.
So now I have my time back. I can get to all the cleaning that has piled up since the end of August, and I can start working my way through my fabric stash, plus revisit my Etsy endeavor and get to stocking up over that if that is what I plan to do. I have a feeling that things in my life are going to be changing some in the next several months and I have mixed emotions about it all. What am I even going to do when I am done teaching school this school year, and I don’t even want to think about what the boy has planned… I am good to take it one day at a time.
That’s all I have for today. I will be back later this week. I am getting back on that blogging wagon, remember? 😉
