Something for a Friday

It is another Friday here on my blog, and so here is another post.  Today is the end of our 3rd nine weeks of 6th grade.  45 more school days left to go, but who’s counting?  We decided against a spring break this year just so we could get done faster, and I think it was a great decision.  We will be continuing on as usual come Monday.

The week ended up being a very easy one, no English work!  That alone makes it seem like a mini break.  English, as much as I love it, can be very time consuming – so says the boy, and so says my wrist from all of that grading.

Although, no spring break means no free time for yard work.  Am I happy or sad about this?  For some reason free time and yard work don’t sound that good together!  I am just gonna have to settle for a Sunday in the yard.  It is supposed to be a nice one this weekend, about 70 degrees with some sun.  There is also a chance of rain, but it is slight.  Hopefully if it does rain, it will show up after I have put the elderberry bushes in the ground.  I am so happy with myself this year, I am starting the planting season as scheduled, March instead of my usual end of May.  I may have  a few things that grow before the sun gets too hot to bear.

Well, that is what is going on right now.  Time to get to grading.  It would be wonderful to have it all done before the weekend starts!

Before I sign off, here’s a quick look at some photos from my week.  (I couldn’t help it! ;-))

  1. No spring break??!! Does this mean that summer will be longer or shorter, though? I suppose that if my schools had done that, and if I had had a longer summer because of it, I wouldn’t have minded. :p I think that they tried one year at a few of my schools, and too many parents were upset because their kids always went across seas and/or to other states to visit with family. :p “I’ll be taking my kid, anyway,” they would say.

I hope your weekend goes well and that the slight chance of rain works in your favor!
