Just a mid-week check in. I realized last night I was almost a month behind in my daily journal, oh no! There is no way I am remembering every day for the last month, there is so much that has gone on. I got some of the minor details from my boy’s journal. Yes, I read my boy’s journal. It is an ongoing assignment and if I didn’t check it now and again, it would read something like this: Woke up, ate, did school. Finished homework, had dinner, went to bed. So, yes I check it a few times a week to make sure he is writing something worth reading later in life. I am his teacher after all, and it came in handy to remind me of what I have been doing the last few weeks. I also used my daily photos to help with the recap.
And now for this week, it has been a busy one; school and an unexpected evening of babysitting, which is always lots of fun. It gave us an excuse to get out for an ice cream cone this evening, everyone was happy! Who doesn’t love ice cream? We have one more day of major school work and then we get to experience the farm life for a few days. I don’t even know how many goats we are taking care of, but in the last few weeks, eight kids have been added to the bunch. And there may or may not be a few more before the week is over! Never in my life would I have thought to be milking goats and feeding chickens!
On a completely different note, my newest shoes showed up on the front porch today. They are so pretty, I feel like I don’t even want to wear them. I also did find a dress for the upcoming night out and it is so pretty also. A simple kind of dress, but just my style. Now I have about two weeks to learn how to walk in high heels. I don’t reckon I will be practicing while tending to the goats, but I will look kind of out of place while making dinner and doing laundry in my new shoes for the next several evenings. I never thought breaking in a pair of shoes would be so much work!
And that is about all that is going on right now. Time to get off of the computer and start to wind down from the day. It would seem my resolution to have a bedtime isn’t working very well. Ah, maybe tomorrow night I will get to bed early…
I hate wearing anything new too, it seems such a shame to spoil them!

Usually I would be nervous about farm-animal sitting, but luckily the boy kind of has an idea of what is going on over at the family farm. I really think it is neat getting to experience this kind of life!
