The 12th Friday of 2017

Hello, all!  How was the week where you are?  Mine, despite having started a little on the rough side, has ended quite well.  I was still feeling a little under the weather for the first half of this week: not a lot of energy, etc., etc.; but come Wednesday, I think my slump had passed.  Or at least I could feel like things were getting better.

I have many things I am grateful for this week, and number one on that list right now is my health and the knowledge that I have been given about it.  Everyday it seems I learn something new, and I know I am on the right track as far as that part of my life goes.  So moving on from that, this week was much more eventful than the last one.  We went on a field trip to the Discovery Park of America.  I have more than enough pictures from that day that I hope to show in another post, but for now, I will just post this one.  The weather spoiled things a bit, but it sure was neat to see the storm come in.

Also this week, the boy and I started on our last quarter of the school year.  I am in disbelief.  How has the tenth grade gone by so fast?  Words cannot express how I feel about this.  He’ll be moving out before I can blink.  The thought of that makes me sad, so I will move on to something else: fabric.  Fabric makes me happy and this week, I bought some.  I finally got my pattern in the mail and my material for that sew along I am doing.  I am a week behind everyone else, but it won’t take long to catch up.  This week I cut the pattern out, and then I bought some material for my wearable muslin, this cherry polka dot fabric I found at Walmart.

I think it will make a nice first draft.  Then, if everything fits alright, I will proceed to make another out of this dress balloon material.  One of two that I ordered that came in just in time for the weekend.  I can’t wait!  Sewing has been on my to-do list since the year began, and it looks like I am a few steps closer to making something.  Progress post to come Monday…

And that is all about what I have been up to this week.  I do still have some grading to do over the weekend, and I am sure I will squeeze it in somewhere.  I finally had the energy to clean house today, so I am happy to say that is taken care of.  One less thing to do this weekend – hooray!
