One week into 2023, and I am pretty happy with how it is going so far. I started the week on a very productive note. In addition to my recap post for 2022, I made another website. This has been on my to-do list for quite some time, and I felt it would be a great way to start the year. So, I have a separate blog just for nutrition coaching. Over there you will find weekly posts in the Wellness Blog section on general wellness and nutrition type stuff. Feel free to follow along. I have a convenient link in the menu of this site to make it easy to navigate between the two. And, here’s a link to the first post on my new site.
I have been trying to use my Instagram platform for posting things related to nutrition and coaching, but I am not posting like I should. I much prefer a blogging platform, so I will see how it goes over here. A lot of social media sites have taken the place of blogs nowadays, but it’s so over saturated with health, wellness, and nutrition coaches that I feel a bit lost with how to approach getting myself out there. I am much more comfortable with a blog, and I feel I can reach more people this way for the time being. I will probably grab snippets of the posts from the website and condense for a more social media friendly version, but building a social media presence is an ongoing thing.
Other than sitting at the computer for more than usual, I’ve made three trips to Jackson. The first one was last Sunday. Stephen needed to get some glasses and the only place close by with what he wanted was in the Jackson mall. This mall has gone downhill in the last several years, but really, it has always been a pretty mediocre mall to begin with. There are hardly any stores left in there, and seems quite often it makes the local news. We put on our brave faces and strolled on in. Thankfully, there were no smash and grab incidents while we were there, something that has happened a few times in the last several months, and really, who is smashing and grabbing eyeglass frames, I thought. Anyway, our Jackson trips weren’t bad and Stephen was very happy with his first real pair of eyeglasses – we were there again yesterday to pick them up.
Also this week, the pups got their new year hair cuts. I think it was the best cut yet. I asked her to keep them a little more fluffy in the face and she did a wonderful job! From what I see on Facebook, it is hard to find a good dog groomer, so I am really happy to have found mine.
The only other thing I can think of from this week was that I got a new pair of shoes. Facebook sent me a targeted ad for a pair of shoes that just so happen to be my size, so I bought them. They were a brand new, used pair of Doc Martens for a very good price so I couldn’t pass them up. I also came across this post on Facebook this week, and it kind of struck a nerve. Made me think of the new shoe rack I just bought cause I had no where to keep the shoes we wear most often. I feel personally attacked by this, ha ha! 😀
This week I am working on creating some Google Forms, and I am finishing up with studying for my PN recertification. In fact, that is what I am doing next after I finish up over here on the blog. I took a week off from weight training last week so I am getting back to my workout schedule today. It’s going to be a good, busy week for me once again. 2023, so far so good. Have a good one, everybody!
