Dear Diary 2019: The Week it Was Kind of Like Winter

Scroll down to content

Hello, hello!  How has your week been?  Do anything fun and exciting?  Go anywhere far and away?

Me?  I stayed pretty close to home and kept as warm as possible, as this was probably week one of winter: highs below freezing and lows in the upper teens.  Plus, a light dusting of snow last weekend.  It was gone by the morning though so it’s kind of like it never really happened.

It wasn’t all snow and cold though.  A few days it started off nice then went straight to winter by dinner again.  The above caption is a pretty accurate one.  For example, this coming Monday was calling for 1-3 inches of snow last night, then this morning nothing.  Go figure!

I made an effort to get more sleep this last week, and even with a few extra hours I still felt a little run down.  I’ve had a lot on my mind and a lot of little personal things going on.  Nothing to worry about, mostly just of the mental sort.  The boy is graduating high school this year, turning 18, and I am just trying to wrap my mind around it all.  Life has been in overdrive, and I am known to be an emotional person.  Enough said.

Other than that, overall everything is good.  I made more wine last week and I should know tomorrow how that is coming along.  I’ve been lifting weights, and working out more regularly, still not losing any weight though.  (Insert sad face here.)  I’m threatening myself with a low-carb diet for a few weeks in an attempt to get things going a bit quicker.  Or, I just need to up my cardio some because really I am a bit more sedentary than usual.  A little more consistency with sleep and more water wouldn’t hurt either.  (Woe is me part of the post is now over.)

Ooh!  Who saw the super moon last weekend?  I did.  The clouds parted, the sky was clear, and there it was, red and beautiful.  I wasn’t even going to bother going out to see it, but then the boy and my guy mentioned it so out we went into the cold night.  I remembered that I took some good pics of the solar eclipse last year with my zoom camera lens, so I ran in to get it and this is the best I got.

I didn’t use a tripod, and I was wearing my glasses so it was hard to see through the dark view finder.  Much cooler in real life that is for sure.  And you can find some wonderful pics online of it, making my bad, blurry picture pretty lame.

Dress of the week. First time wearing this one and I made it about a year and a half ago.

And that’s about all I have to say for last week.  I have been sneaking in some sewing here and there so a January dress should be up soon.  But before I can finish that, I have transcripts to make and dentist appointments to go to this week.  It’s going to be a busy one!  But since it’s only Saturday night, I think I will get myself a glass of wine and play a game of Words with Friends – it’s probably the only phone game I play these days.  (I am dmgirl25 for those of you needing someone to play with.)  🙂

Don't leave yet! Tell me what you think.
